WHY BOTHER?

  • NIYF exists to support young people to have a say in the decisions that affect their lives.
  • We work across Northern Ireland, and all young people aged 11 - 25 can become members and get involved.
  • We are a youth-led organisation; this means that young people make all the important decisions about our work and how we spend our money.
  • Young people are in charge of NIYF. A 12 person Executive committee of young people aged 11 - 25 holds overall responsibility for decision-making in NIYF.

  • Support you to make change - we know that all young people have great ideas that could really make a positive difference to society. NIYF is committed to encouraging and training young people to speak out about the issues that concern them, take action & participate.
  • Connect you with others - often it's difficult to stand up or speak out when you feel alone or that you're going to be criticised or laughed at. NIYF is committed to helping you to connect with others so that young people can share, opinions, ideas, make plans & make things happen.
  • Give you the tools to make change - Our Big Deal Participation Workers can provide training & support to help young people make positive change...
  • Making your voice heard - Most young people wouldn't be happy to sit back and let others make decisions for them, but politicians do this every day! Young People have a right to have their opinions taken into concideration when politicians make these decisions and that's where we come in ...We're committed to helping you to learn about issues that affect you, supporting you to participate & taking your views to Government.

By post: Download and print a membership form and send it to NIYF, 68 Berry Street, Belfast, BT1 1FJ.

If you are a young person please complete the Individual Membership form.
If you are an adult working with young people please complete the Organisational Membership form.

The CYPF is part of NIYF, they meet in five different areas throughout NI and have members as young as 8.  For more info click here.
