Reconciliation Through the Riverine

Reconciliation Through the Riverine

Project Description

Over the last 2 Months the NI Youth Forum have been delivering a Youth Participation project with young people from Strabane, Lifford and the Hinterlands.

The project is an initiative of the Reconciliation through the Riverine project, coordinated by Strabane District Council and Donegal County Council.

The NI Youth Forum have been working with groups of young people aged 13 – 24 from across the border area on programmes exploring prejudice, discrimination, racism, sectarianism and diversity. 8 groups in total have engaged in the project with a total of 140 young people.

Young people have developed relationships on a cross community, cross border basis and have gained skills in leadership, team building, negotiation and exploring diversity.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the participating groups, the Reconciliation Through the Riverine project and to all the local contacts who enabled to young people to participate.
