NIYF External Affairs
The Northern Ireland Youth Forum is involved in a variety of external activities, i.e. work which falls outside the normal activities of the Forum, these include National and International activities such as the United Kingdom Youth Parliament and the UKIRC Young Ambassadors Programme.

UKYP
The United Kingdom Youth Parliament is facilitated by Young People, who are supported by the British Youth Council and The Northern Ireland Youth Forum. They provide opportunities for young people aged 11 – 18 years to use their voice in creative ways to bring about social change. There are currently 18 MYP’s elected to represent the Young People of Northern Ireland and promote the concept so youth participation and empowerment.

This year MYPs are running campaigns on employment, mental health, school libraries, education and transport.
From August -October 13 the MYPs carried out a consultation with their peers called Make Your Mark. In Northern Ireland MYPs consulted with over 12,400 young people and the UK total was 474,000. The top 5 issues across the UK will be debated in the House of Commons on 15th Nov.

UKIRC
UK International Representation Committee.
There are a number of official international youth representation platforms offered to the UK (e.g. UN, EU, Commonwealth).
The British Youth Council (BYC), Funky Dragon (FD), Northern Ireland Youth Forum (NIYF), Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) and UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) all work within the UK to support young people to represent their views.
