Participative Structures Audit
The Northern Ireland Youth Forum is carrying out an audit of youth participation structures. We define a participative structure as;
‘A structure that brings together children and young people regionally, sub regionally or locally to participate as decision makers. It does not have to be a formal structure, any way of involving children and/or young people in governance, planning, management or decision-making is considered a participative structure.’
The last audit of this nature was carried out by the Big Deal project in 2009. We are very encouraged by the numbers of participation structures that have continued and the number of new structures that have been developed since this audit and therefore wish to get a more up to date view of current work. The main aim of this audit is to highlight all this good work and to raise awareness of the various types of structures, issues young people are working on, the make up of structures in terms of age, gender and ethnicity.
All participative structures/organisations that complete the audit questionnaire will be entered into a draw to win free training for their group.
The audit questionnaire can be found at: , for a hard copy of the questionnaire please contact Claire King at claire@niyf.org or call 028 9033 1990.
