Participation Resources

Master training manual for Chuala Youth Council:
Resources for Participation workers:
A number of years ago we worked closely with Lloyds TSB Foundation (now Halifax Foundation) to develop a resource aimed at helping organisations involve young people in governance.
We would encourage organisations to use this resource in promoting the voice of young people on committees across all sectors.
NIYF can help deliver workshops if required – contact info@niyf.org for inquiries.

Prior to the work on Partners in Power (above) we were involved in another amazing piece of work called ‘The Big Deal’. This project was aimed at improving participation for young people at a range of levels. It was run in partnership with Youthnet NI; Playboard; Youth Council for NI; The Education and Library Board (now EA); and the Education & Training Inspectorate.
Some exceptional resources were developed as part of this and can be found here:
Below are links to further resources for young people and workers.
One is on the Funky Dragon Model from Wales; one is a report from Dail na nÓg in the Republic of Ireland one is a case study of Youth Forums carried out a few years ago and the other is an interesting piece on women’s political representation in Sweden. We hope you find these useful.
