Participation of the Isles
This weekend the NI Youth Forum is leading a 3 day ‘Participation seminar’ entitled ‘Participation of the Isles’. The event brings together 30 young people from across England, Scotland, Wales, Rep. of Ireland and N. Ireland. The Young people aged 14- 18 will participate in a range of discussions, workshops, visits and activities that enable young people to explore each others cultures, identity and heritage. The main purpose of the 3 day residential is for young people to improve relationships across the Isles and work to develop a Youth Manifesto, which will have issues of commonality that young people can work together on in the future.
Building on the major public events that have taken place between the Islands in recent years, NI youth Forum will work with the Scottish Youth Parliament, Cardiff Youth Council, British Youth Council and Leitrim Comhairle na nÓg in the running of this event.
The dates 13 – 15th February: Venue Belfast Centre. Funded by the Youth Council for NI via the Causeway British – Irish Exchange Youth Programme.
