Today our Youth Start Team attended the Locality Planning Group meeting for the Newtownabbey area. We are delighted to now sit on this LPG with other community partners and are excited to learn from them and grow our connection here.
We heard from Robert at NHSCT, about the amazing STAY program which is currently recruiting for host families to support young people transitioning out of care. We learnt about the Consumer Council from Ronan and how they can help young people and families with budgeting household finances. Lastly, we learnt about an initiative called the Grocery Voucher Report Card and how it has benefitted families in the Newtownabbey area.We look forward to the next meeting where we will present the Youth Start programme and how it can support young people aged 16-30 in the Newtownabbey area.
